He trained at the National Institute of Building Inspectors, worked as a municipal housing inspector for 1 and ½ years, and has been a private home inspector since 1980. Scot has been a member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) since 1991 and has done over 10,000 home inspections following the standards of ASHI. He also stays up-to-date on housing issues by attending continuing education seminars each year.
